For more than 75 years, the United Way of the CSRA has encouraged local groups to give, advocate, and volunteer in service to others. From building and renovating homes to providing invaluable job training to underserved individuals, the United Way consistently works to improve life for everyone in Augusta and its surrounding communities. Over the weekend, Countersync was proud to work with the United Way on their Project Serve at Lynndale, Inc.
Lynndale, Inc. is a community support service that provides job training and employment services to individuals with special needs. All program participation is tailored to the needs and desires of the person served, along with input from their family and caregivers. Community integration services covers areas of adult living skills, leisure recreation, communication skills, socialization skills, community integration, safety skills, and mobility. Organizational employment services enables individuals 18 years and older with special needs to receive paid work opportunities through the Lynndale, Inc. organization. Community employment services enables individuals 18 and older with special needs to get a job and maintain appropriate employment in the community, with jobs that pay at least minimum wage or above. The program further provides ongoing support, training, and assessments to ensure independence and build confidence.
Carlos, Chris, and Bill participated in Project Serve by building new outdoor furniture for Lynndale participants and employees to use for lunch, leisure, and outdoor learning in the future. With summer just around the corner, we’re glad to have had the opportunity to help provide a fun and safe space for the organization to enjoy during warmer weather.
Thank you again to United Way and everyone at Project Serve for your ongoing support of our community. We’re looking forward to next time!
